Practical answers

Common student housing questions

Do students have to live in a dormitory?

You can compare your institution’s dormitory with a private room, student residence, coliving or a separate flat. Consider eligibility, total cost, the privacy you need and your teaching locations. If your admission documents set specific accommodation requirements, clarify those with the university.

Does a single dormitory room have a private bathroom?

Not necessarily. “Single” describes the number of residents in the bedroom. A bathroom can serve one room, a block of rooms or an entire floor. Ask for the description of the actual room offered.

Can I stay at Sparta coHome for a semester or Erasmus+ exchange?

Include your actual arrival and departure dates and requirements in the enquiry. The available room, price and agreed stay length need separate confirmation. Submitting an application does not reserve a room.

Can I get an accommodation document for my university or another procedure?

First ask the institution receiving the document exactly what form and information it requires. Then confirm with your chosen accommodation provider whether it can issue that document. Discuss this before committing.

What if my dormitory place has not been confirmed?

Ask the institution about your application and its response process. You can compare private offers for your dates alongside it, but read cancellation and refund conditions before paying. Avoid overlapping commitments that you cannot end.

For your study dates

Ask about a room that fits your plans

Include your arrival and departure dates, number of residents, preferred room and essential requirements in the application. We can discuss whether the room and shared home suit you; the offer and conditions need separate confirmation.
